Chinese New Year Greeting Card
Red on White Pocket Fold Tag Card

A Chinese New Year greeting card made by folding a piece of white card stock into a pocket for a tag insert. Pattern designs on this Lunar New Year card are by BoBunny, Crafty Secrets and a local stamp company.

Chinese New Year Card Making Supplies :

  • White color cardstock - 11.75" x 5"
  • White color cardstock - 4" x 6"
  • Chinese greetings rubber stamp
  • Triangle pattern clear stamp by BoBunny
  • Border design clear stamp by Crafty Secrets
  • Versamark ink pad
  • Gold embossing powder
  • Red embossing powder
  • Heat gun
  • Small brush
  • Bone folder
  • Double-sided tape or glue
  • Red ribbon
  • Hole punch
  • Corner rounder punch
  • Red colour gel pen


Card Making Instructions:

  1. Score white color cardstock at 3.75" and 8.00"
  2. Ink triangle pattern stamp with versamark ink.
  3. Stamp image on left flap front of card.
  4. Pour red embossing powder on stamped image.
  5. Shake off excess powder and brush stray powder with small brush.
  6. Melt powder with heat gun to achieve a raised embossed image.
  7. Repeat on the right flap.
  8. Trim along the stamped image to make triangle flap on both sides.
  9. Apply glue or double-sided tape and overlap flaps together to form a pocket.
  10. Use corner punch to round the four corners.
  11. Use a red gel pen to draw running stitches on the edges.
  12. Ink border pattern stamp with versamark ink.
  13. Stamp image on top of the 4" x 6" white card.
  14. Pour red embossing powder on stamped image.
  15. Shake off excess powder and brush stray powder with small brush.
  16. Melt powder with heat gun to achieve a raised embossed image.
  17. Ink chinese new year greetings stamp with versamark ink.
  18. Stamp image on centre of card below border.
  19. Pour gold embossing powder on stamped image.
  20. Shake off excess powder and brush stray powder with small brush.
  21. Melt powder with heat gun to achieve a raised embossed image.
  22. Round corners with corner punch.
  23. Punch a hole on the top of tag and tie a ribbon.

That's it! A pretty lunar new year pocket tag card to send a happy new year greetings.
