This first card above was created and posted by snail mail to me one Christmas by none other than my online good buddy, Valerie Smith. Simple and elegant is Valerie's works of love.


Directly below is a string of Christmas cards hanging on my wall before and during the festive season.  Notice that these are all handmade Holiday cards from friends all over the world whom I met online and offline. This is one way to showcase all the Christmas cards received :-) which usually received a lot of ohhhh... and ahhhh... from visitors because a handmade greeting card is always a piece of art to be admired.

The following Christmas cards below were created in one afternoon. I hope that they will help you jumpstart your Christmas card making if you are struck and in need of some Christmas ideas to create your own Christmas cards this year.


Celebrate Christmas Idea

  1. Stamp image on white cardstock.
  2. Cut out.
  3. Color with markers or watercolors.
  4. Layer onto green paper.
  5. Mount onto red blank basic card. 

Happy Holidays Card

Holiday CardHolly Christmas Design
  1. Stamp image with VersaMark ink on white cardstock and heat embossed.
  2. Cut out and put aside.
  3. Cut vellum and fold on edge of green blank basic card.
  4. Apply glue to the fold and paste on inside edge of card.
  5. Apply glue to back of vellum where embossed stamped image will be mounted to attach vellum to green cardstock.
  6. Paste embossed image onto the vellum and green card. Stamp "Happy Holidays" in white below the embossed image.
  7. Stamp Credit: Stamp Oasis / Hero Arts 

Japanese Design Christmas Card

  1. Stamp Japanese image with Brilliance Black ink on white card-stock and cut out.
  2. Colour and put aside. Stamp temari images with Brilliance Black ink on white cardstock and color.
  3. Attach trimmed image to temari white card with foam tape. Layer on black paper and mount onto red blank basic card.
  4. (Optional) Stamp "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas" in gold below layered images.
  5. Stamps Credit: Kodomo No Kao 

Celebrate The Season

  1. Stamp image on white cardstock and cut out.
  2. Colour and layer onto gold paper.
  3. Mount onto red blank basic card.
  4. Finally, stamp "Celebrate The Season" in black.

Useful Cardmaking Tips

  • Clean clear stamp immediately with dish washing detergent after use. For stubborn stain, use a dish cloth to rub off the ink stains.
  • Use clear embossing powder on coloured stamped images. If you missed any stray powder, it's not noticeable.
